Kajaki Dam was built in 1953 by the American company “Washington Group International” (Morrison-Knudsen). However, during the Russian attack on Afghanistan, the contractors of this company left the work site, and because of this, the last two meters of Taj Band and its emergency evacuation valve were not built.
